The Smith Family to the Ivory Coast
Dear Bro. Beatty and Church Family,
We received the wonderful $500 love offering for the children's camp
today! Thank you very, very , very much! The timing has been absolutely
perfect! It was a great source of encouragement and joy to hear about
your decision to help out with this need! The camp will begin on Sunday,
and we still have many details that must be done at the last minute, so
please pray that the Lord would give us strength, wisdom and clarity of
mind during the next two weeks!
We are very excited about getting to tell the campers about how this camp
was made possible because of a church in New Braunfels, Texas who loves
the Lord and loves them and sacrificed so that they could have this week
of spiritual and physical nourishment! I wish that you could see the
excitement that these children and even the monitors have been showing
about getting to go to this camp! What a joy it is to serve the Lord!!!
I believe that Calvary is going to become a very special church to our
churches here in Ivory Coast! Could you e-mail us a picture of you and
the church? We would like to show it to the kids as we share with them
what the Lord has done through you.
Thank you once again and we pray that the Lord will bless you many times
over for this investment in his work! We love you and praise the Lord
for you!
Your Friends and Ambassadors to the Ivory Coast,
Randy and Tonya Smith
The Tamangs - Missionaries to Nepal

Your prayers would be greatly appreciated. We have been going through sickness here. Tara is doing better after two ear infections and upper respiratory infection. Caleb has bronchitis and James is trying to get over what he thinks was a spider bite. He has been having fever every day for several days but is still trying to keep up with the classes he has been teaching. We have been trying to start back up the Good News Club so maybe it is the enemy trying to stop it. We started it back up today with just our children mostly and one other who has now been to church with us two times. We wanted to start back even though there were not many because we wanted children to see we are starting back again. Even though James was not feeling very good we went ahead with the club.
Playground ministry - I am not sure if I mentioned in the last update about Narayani getting saved. I think I did mention it but it was exciting for us so it is worth mentioning again. She is doing well and we are looking into starting some classes for them to learn more. We are going to check to see if there is something translated or if James needs to translate something.
College James started teaching at a college. He is finding that it keeps him very busy. He has to translate and then prepare and teach his class. He is only teaching one class this time since he knew it might be too much with trying to keep up with the other things.
Nepal Pray for rain for Nepal. We have not had rain in over five months. It is very dry here.
Nepali class The class has dwindled a little possibly due to two weeks of not having it. One week James was sick and one week Nepal was closed so there was not church. We are hoping that they are not getting discouraged. Please also be in prayer for them to see the importance of being able to read.
There is a lot to pray for this time so I will stop here. There are also souls hanging in the balance that we are working with so please be in prayer for them as well. Thank you.
Through Christ alone,
James & Holly Tamang

Our Missionaries To Mexico: The Christenson's

Conference held in Bro. Esteban's church in Chiapas a couple of years ago.
January-February, 2006
Dear Praying Friend,
Greetings again from south of the border. It was good to make the quick trip to Florida to celebrate Pat's mom's 90th birthday. It was the first time since we were married 28 years ago that everyone plus their spouses were together at the same time. It is also a great privilege to be back and serve in the work of the Lord and His churches here in Mexico. Since being back, besides the regular activities, I have been concentrating on getting materials together for the camp season. Pat and I will be in the state of Chiapas for two camp sessions as well as one-day meetings in seven other churches. That will take care of the "Holy Week" vacation period as it is called here, a two-week school vacation the week before and the week after Easter. Please pray for these meetings from April 9-23.
A special blessing in both Sunday congregations has been several visitors to the services after a long "dry run". From the letters sent out with Julia's help last Summer and Fall, we also continue to receive renewed contacts regularly for the correspondence school [see attached picture], some with amazing testimonies. One man, who never had any formal schooling because he was an orphan, found the "Help from Above" tract in the street in 1997. It may well have been from a trip we made handing out tracts in his area in southern Mexico. Since at the time he could not read, he stopped a man walking behind him and asked the man if he would read the tract to him! He heard the truth of John 14:6 and accepted Christ. He has
taught himself to read and is not only studying the courses himself, but sent in the names of ten others to receive courses. Another young man gave this testimony: "I am a believer in Christ; I have received Him in my heart and the change in my life shows it. I was gay and I left it. I am now married and have children. The power of the Lord changed me."
Two special medical needs have come up for which we would deeply appreciate your prayers. Perhaps someone may want to help financially as the Lord leads. Brother Esteban Encinos is one of the ordained ministers and key leaders in the church work in the state of Chiapas. Besides his pastoral work, he travels quite extensively in the ministry, teaching, counseling, and encouraging many pastors and congregations in at least two different languages. Many years ago he lost one of his legs in an accident but has been restored to mobility with the use of a prosthetic leg. Because of wear and tear it has to be replaced from time to time, although he generally gets a few years' extra service from each unit. He told me a while back that it is time for the prosthesis to be replaced again at a cost of around $3,000.
So that you can get an idea of how expensive that is for him according to his income, it would equivalent to someone in the USA spending $30,000 for the same thing. I'm sure that any help that would come in towards this need would be greatly appreciated.
Attached are pictures of Bro. Esteban (on the right) translating a message being preached from Spanish into the Tzeltal Indian language, and of a conference held in Bro. Esteban's church in Chiapas a couple of years ago. The last weekend of February, Pat had a sudden bout of extremely severe pain which kept her awake all night. The following morning we met with our family doctor who ordered an ultrasound exam which confirmed the suspicion of gall
stones. She was hospitalized for the weekend to take care of the pain. She is presently at home doing well and surgery is scheduled for March 9th to remove her gall bladder. The laparoscopic surgery here will cost about $2,500 which we have been able to borrow.
Our sponsoring church is getting up a new website which we invite you to visit: http://pleasant-valley.baptist-church-online.us
That pretty much brings you up to date on our past, present, and future activities. We are very grateful for your regular prayers and financial support. God has been so good to us through you over many years.
Co-laborers for Christ,
Dave and Pat

The Messersmith's - Missionaries To England May 2006 Update

But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Mt. 9:36
Dear Friends,
As the summer approaches, we are looking forward to enjoying all the things that this time of year brings. The children are very excited that they have only five weeks left of school and Zachary is counting the days until it is officially summertime. Though, in England, you are not sure if it ever officially becomes summer! Lisa is now six months pregnant and both she and the baby are doing very well. Her due date is approximately September 20th.
There are several ministries that will be taking place over the next few months that we would like you to pray about. On July 7-9 we will have our first missions conference teaching Faith Promise giving. Layton Kelly and Martin Wickens, who are both British, are missionaries in Ireland. They will be coming and presenting their calling to the church. This will be the first time that the people of our church have ever heard of and been asked to participate in Faith Promise.
After the missions conference our first Vacation Bible School will be held. Presently we have about 15 children attending the Sunday school and they have been regularly bringing visitors with them over several weeks. Pray as we prepare and promote the VBS that the kids coming will be excited and invite their family and friends to come along. The theme is “Exploring our Awesome God”. We are praying that more young people will trust Christ as their Savior.
In early September our first students will attend Trinity Baptist Bible College which we will be starting this fall. We are also sponsoring a Creation seminar at the end of the month. Though these are several months away we do need your continued prayers concerning these ministries. The creation meeting will be targeting those who are not saved and believe in evolution. This is a very hot topic amongst the youth of Great Britain and we are praying many will come and for the first time here the truth about creation and salvation.
We praise the Lord for the work he has done in the hearts of those who have been faithfully attending the services. The young people are so excited about Sunday school and learning about spiritual matters. Philip, Jade and Tiffany, the first young people who accepted Christ, asked their Sunday school teacher if they could be baptised. We are planning our first baptismal service in June. As we do not have a baptismal in the church we will be using the swimming pool of one of the families in our church. Carl, who was saved in March, has continued to come to both services on Sunday. He is a little hesitant on being baptised so we ask that you will pray for him that he will simply be obedient to the Word of God.
With all our hearts we thank you for your support through prayers and finances.
Standing on the Promises,
Steve Messersmith and Family

WELCOME ABOARD KAY!!

It's Important to Read Missionary Letters
How often do you read your missionary letters? Having a son that is a missionary makes me sensitive to how important it is to actually read what the missionaries are saying about things that are happening on their field. They spend alot of money on the stamps, paper, and printing of their prayer letters. More importantly, they are letting you know what your mission dollars are doing. It is a tremendous blessing to find out about each of them. You sort of feel like they are part of your family (which they are). I will be filling you in on the special prayer requests and the needs that they have. It is a my great joy and priviledge to do this.
Missionary of the Week - The Smith Family
Each week, our church selects one of our missionary families to pray for during the week. Many of our people e-mail them as well. Our missionary of the week of June 4 is Randy and Tonya Smith and family. Currently they are home on furlough from Ivory Coast. They have been visiting their supporting churches and new churches. Please pray for them as they seek God's direction as to where they will go after the furlough. The Ivory Coast is still unstable at this time, but their heart is there with the people. Their e-mail address is: smithsinic@juno.com . They have 4 children, Jonathan age 7, LaRee age 5, Benji age 4, and Joshua age 1 Today, the 6th of June, is their 7th anniversary.
Jonathan Labarge - Missions Trip To England

Dear Pastor Beatty and Calvary Baptist Church,
Great Britain is such a beautiful place, but I have found out all too soon that it is a very ugly place because of the heathenism of the people. That is the only word for it. They are a people that do not know God and and do not care to know God as their personal Savior. Please pray that the Lord would continue to give me wisdom in dealing with the people as I seek to win souls for Him.
I would like to say a very big thank you in the way that you helped provide for my trip from the love offering. It was a great blessing. I would also like to say thank you for the great privilege and honour afforded to me in allowing me to fill the pulpit for Pastor Beatty in his absence.
Please continue to pray that the Lord God would continue to work in the hearts of the people as we go out seeking to bring them to the Master. Please also pray for safety for myself and the other eleven students as we will be traveling a great deal while we try to minister and be a blessing to the Baptist Churches of the United Kingdom.
Thank you again for all your prayers and support. May God richly bless you for your sacrifice. God bless you as you continue to serve Him there in your mission field of New Braunfels, Texas!
Love in Christ,
Jonathan M. LaBarge

SPOTLIGHT ON OUR MISSIONARY
Fugi and Janet Rodriguez are members of Calvary Baptist Church and currently preparing to go to Mexico as missionaries. The call began at age 17 when Fugi became a Christian in Liberal, Kansas. They have served the Lord at Calvary for 15 years— Fugi as a Junior Boys Sunday School teacher, minister of hospitality, song leader, usher, and involved in many building projects. Janet is a nursery worker, sings in the choir, makes quilts for the bus children and they both can always be counted on to be at work days. They are both a very vital part of CBC. They have 4 grown children and 4 grandchildren. Youngest son, Josh is presently serving in Iraq.
They feel that God wants them to work with children in Mexico, legally adopting orphaned children, (although they don’t know how many God will bring to them), raising them in a Godly Christian home. Fugi has all his legal paperwork in order to live and travel in Mexico. They are working to get Janet’s paperwork finalized. Please be in prayer for them as they get ready to go to the field.

Missionary To Toluca Mexico Joseph Holley Speaking Tonight (Wed Nov 1st, 2006)

My family and I have been on the field as missionaries since January 2002. We are independent, fundamental, local church Baptist missionaries, and are not associated with any board or fellowship of any kind. Our sending church is Grace Baptist Church in Marrero, LA, Pastor Craig Foote; (504-341-1131).
Originally we planned to go to Cuba as missionaries, and we took several trips there intending to move there permanently. In this year, through various political circumstances, we have concluded that God has other plans for us in the near future.
For one, we would never be able to live there full-time; secondly, we would not be able to take our children; and thirdly, we probably would be "on the field" for only 2 or 3 months per year.
After counseling with our pastor, we are planning to start a church here in Mexico where we have worked most of these last four years. We are currently praying about the capital city of Toluca about one hour west of Mexico City.
We plan to have this settled when we start our furlough in June 2006. As to our schooling, I graduated from Oklahoma Baptist College in Oklahoma City in 1997. My wife graduated from her home church's institute, Capital City Baptist Institute, in Austin, Texas in 2001. We were married in June of the same year and have 2 boys-Joseph, who will turn 4 in April, and Joshua, who is 2 ½.

Report From Our Missionary To Northern Ireland Don Randall Sunday Evening Nov. 5th
Please pray for the Smith's grandaughter Becca in the hospital in Nebraska
Hello to ALL,
Just want to thank you all for your love, support and prayers. I am amazed at how God uses willing people. I am sooo grateful for the opportunity to be here. I have spent the day at the hospital waiting room with the Lauren (18 Mos), Lydia (almost 2), AbigAIL (6 with Downs Synd) and Samuel and Sarah (4). What an adventure.
Please keep us in your prayers. Several kids on the mend from a little bug. Beka had to be put back on oxygen today (30%). She had a pulmonary test done and out of 600 minutes she had Saturation levels at 70-80%. And she may have reflux. Not real sure until they talk to the Drs come tomorrow whether they will be letting her out. Kinda of disappointing about her Sat levels, however, we know that GOD IS IN CONTROL. Please pray as we get reports tomorrow.
Will keep you posted. Sure do love and miss you all.
Take Care,
Becky
UPDATE November 07, 2006 at 11:00 PM CST We have been told that we get to go home either Thursday or Friday! So that has made yesterday and today pretty busy.
Yesterday evening we met with the geneticist and learned more about Beka's chromosomes. She has what is called an "unbalanced translocation of chromosomes 14 and 21" (I think that is the complete name). I told the kids that we need to think of a nickname that would be easier to say.
Beka was kept busy today with various things. She had a vision test and a hearing test. I don't know the results of the vision test. The hearing test showed that she has moderate hearing loss in her right ear, but her left ear is fine. They will repeat the test in about 3 months and another test also, which might give us more information.
On Sunday afternoon the results of a sleep test that she did Thursday night came back, showing that her oxygen levels seem to drop every once in awhile. They have a few different theories as to why this is happening, and expect her to outgrow this in a few months at most. Until then she will be on a small amount of oxygen.
Tomorrow I will be learning how to place Beka's ng tube (her feeding tube that goes in her nose). They have already taught me how to check the placement (to make sure it is still in her stomach), and how to feed her using the tube.
We are so excited that our time here is almost done, and that we can return to a "normal" life again!
Evangelist Paul Iskat This Sunday AM & PM Services

February 25th - Beacon World Missions Director Dr. Pete Mucher, Our Missionary to the Ukraine to Report on The Work Sunday 11 am Service

Pete Mucher & His Wife Esther
Beacon World Missions
In 1963, Peter founded Mucher Construction, Inc. and operated this company until 1977 when he sold it to his brother, Philip, before going to Nigeria, Africa to construct eight buildings for the Nigerian government. During the years as president of this company, Peter was involved in many organizations. He was one of the founders and Vice President of the Metal Building Dealers Association, belonged to Rotary International, and won many awards for his outstanding sales ability and construction projects.
While he was in Nigeria, Peter surrendered his life to Christ. After returning to the states he worked as Vice President of Marketing for another construction company for nearly two years. During these years he felt the call to full-time Christian work, and in 1980 enrolled at Oklahoma Baptist College in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He graduated from OBC in 1983. He was awarded an honorary doctorate degree by Calvary Baptist Bible Seminary in 2004.
While he was in college Peter felt God's call to begin a video production ministry to help small, country churches be exposed to the preaching of great men of God. In 1981 he started Beacon Video Production, Inc. Peter went to Ukraine in 1992 to videotape a documentary for another mission, and his heart was broken for these people who have never heard the true presentation of the Gospel of Christ. He knew God would help him make a difference in Ukraine, particularly in the Zhytomyr region.
That very year he began to help build and establish churches and brought humanitarian aid to this country to assist with their physical need. Each year since then he has increased this endeavor. In 1995 Peter founded Beacon World Mission, Inc. so others could donate financially and help with medical and other humanitarian items. With much prayer and trust in the Lord, Peter has raised the funds to help establish five churches and supplement medical help, food and clothing for many orphanages and individuals in Zhytomyr.
March 21st - Nick & Patty Sutmaier - Our Missionaries to Mexico To Give a Report On Wednesday at 7 pm

Nick, Patty, Natalie and Melanie Sutmaier
We have been on the field now for 6 1/2 years and counting. We spent our first year in San Jose, Cost Rica learning Spanish and then went to Mexico City. We have been here for well over five years now and the Lord has blessed us and your church with much fruit.
We have helped start 5 churches in the last four years. Two of the churches are pastored by missionaries at this time and three of the churches are pastored by Mexican pastors. Each church is going strong and growing, with the combined average attendance at about 345. We praise the Lord for His goodness and blessings. 3 1/2 years ago we took over the work of a missionary who fell into sin. He left a large debt on the property that we are currently trying to pay off. We still owe around $40,000 from the $90,000 original when we first took over the work.
A small group of people tried to force us out of Mexico by trying to discourage us into leaving. But God had other plans. Our church went through two church splits in two years, they wanted to sell the property and pocket the money (around $400,000 dollars). God in His mercy did not let that happen. After all was said and done God began to do a great thing in our church. We got all the papers in order and the church began to grow and is still growing. Since January of 2006 God has increased our church by almost 300%. We have been getting people saved, baptized and discipling them. We are about to knock every door in our area for the fifth time. Our people are almost all new converts and they are growing in grace. Everyone in our church is excited to see God's power and blessings in our church. All of this is happening because you have kept us here on the field through your prayers and faithful support! We love you and are looking forward to seeing you very soon! We do have one pressing prayer request. Please pray that we can quickly raise the remaining $40,000 on our property. If the Lord should put it in your hearts to help us we would be very grateful.
Serving Our Lord,
Nick, Patty, Natalie and Melanie Sutmaier
