1. The PAC (Pastors Advisory Council) will begin exploring options with regard to a new school building to accommodate the anticipated growth in CBA student population beginning in the 2009-2010 school year. Current facilities, with slight modification to the Annex and the partial use of the Sanctuary should meet the needs of the 2008-2009 school year. Since it takes over 1 year to obtain funding, complete construction and equip class rooms, it is not too early to begin exploring options.
2. Some of the things the Exploratory Committee will investigate are:
A. The size of the school with reference to the number of students the school will have each year for the next 10, 15 and 20 years.
B. Explore various building types and sizes with regard to their cost, durability and efficiency.
C. The income that these students will generate as well as the additional expenses for teachers, an Administrator, full time maintenance/custodian, additional utilities, additional class room furnishings and sports equipment, parking lot, new drive way, etc.
D. Explore finance options that will probably be based on paying off the current bond so that there will only be one payment.
E. Based on the current banking and mortgage situation, seek options that will be most beneficial to our church.
F. Explore intermediary solutions.
G. Look for companies that have experience in building quality buildings at affordable prices.
H. Look into the various requirements by the City of New Braunfels, now that our property falls under their jurisdiction. Obtain their master plan for our street so we are aware of any changes to the width of the road, sewer availability, etc.
I. Look for someone who may be willing to develop a comprehensive site plan for our property.
J. Develop and state the qualifications, duties and responsibilities for an Education Board that will assist in the development of the school and college through our church.
3. The Exploratory Committee will not have the authority to commit the church to any financial obligations. Its sole purpose is to investigate, report its findings and make recommendations for consideration by the church.
