The following prayer request was received from Jaye Beatty (Our Youth pastor's wife)
I'd like to pass along a prayer request for our church. The pastor of my home church , Tom Olney, has a granddaughter who is 4 months old and has brain cancer. There was a story about it in the Alton newspaper. (Article Below)
I know Pastor and Bart and Amy (the baby's parents) would appreciate our prayers. The
baby's name is Deborah.

Amy Olney took her seemingly healthy 4-month-old baby to the doctor for a routine well-baby check on Nov. 19 and was told to “take her directly to Children’s Hospital.”
Olney said the physician, Dr. Steven Zenker in Alton, saw something that did not look right in little Deborah. Her eyes showed something wrong, and her soft spot was raised slightly. He wanted the baby checked further.
Olney said a series of MRI tests revealed five malignant tumors — four in the back of Deborah’s brain and one that was high in the brain. Deborah was diagnosed with brain cancer and had two surgeries in a week’s time, the first on the Monday after Thanksgiving. Amy Olney said one surgery took seven hours from the incision.
Another tumor was found, and it was very deep. Doctors can’t go in for the third time.
Amy and Barton Olney have been at their tiny daughter’s side every day. They have two older daughters, Madison, 4, and Peyton, 3. Their friends recently lost a child to cancer in April, and the 4-year-old does have some comprehension that her baby sister is very sick.
Medical bills are accumulating for the Olneys, along with the expenses of food, gas and being away from home. A fund has been set up to help the young couple, and anyone wanting to donate can go to any US Bank branch and make a deposit to the “Deborah Olney Donation Account.”
As a Grandfather, I can't imagine what these people are going through. Please pray that the Lord works mightily in this family.
Pastor Beatty
